We share a common objective

— to give supply chain management and purchasing professionals the resources and information they need to succeed. That's why we have established complimentary ISM membership as the reward for our 30 “Rising Supply Chain Stars”, and will send one “megawatt” professional (and the person who nominated him/her) to ISM2015. Through the knowledge they gain from ISM programs, these young professionals will be empowered to make an even bigger difference to their organizations.

About the Program:

ThomasNet.com and ISM Shine the Spotlight on Supply Chain Management's Rising Stars

ThomasNet.com and Institute for Supply Management (ISM) are joining forces to celebrate the accomplishments of the best and brightest young talent in the industry, by recognizing the “30 under 30” rising stars in the purchasing/supply chain management profession. We are singling out young professionals who deserve to be applauded for their passion, creativity and exceptional contributions to their industry.

For over one hundred years, our two organizations have worked shoulder-to-shoulder to advance purchasing/supply chain management. We created this new recognition program at a pivotal moment for this sector, which is gearing up for a generational shift. By the year 2025, members of today's Millennial generation (18-32) will represent about 75 percent of the supply chain workforce. At the same time, the Baby Boomers who are a large part of the industry will be retiring “in droves.” By acting now to engage a new generation of talent, we will help maintain the strength and vitality of this profession.

Every day, supply chain management and purchasing professionals make a critical contribution to their companies' financial well-being. The opportunity to have such an important impact is incredibly rewarding. By honoring, encouraging, and mentoring rising talent, those who have already benefited can “pay it forward.” That's why we are urging them to nominate young luminaries who already stand out for their initiative, innovation and leadership. Younger Millennials can also nominate themselves, and be examples for their peers.

ThomasNet.com and ISM share a common objective—to give supply chain management and purchasing professionals the resources and information they need to succeed. That's why we have established complimentary ISM membership as the reward for our 30 “Rising Supply Chain Stars,” and will send one “megawatt” professional (and the person who nominated him/her) to ISM2015. Through the knowledge they gain from ISM programs, these young professionals will be empowered to make an even bigger difference to their organizations. Since 1914, when we collaborated to establish the first chapter of ISM, we have focused on this mission. We look forward to building on it by rewarding 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars.
