Electric Heaters have many applications in today’s homes and businesses. They are used to take the chill out of the air for those workers who are laboring in the docking area of a warehouse. They provide a quick room-specific heat source when the use of the house-wide heating system is not needed. They are a great help in case the furnace at home needs to be repaired. At the office, they may provide that little extra heat for the secretary who is farthest away from the heating vent. In other words, electric heaters at home and at the office are one of life’s little conveniences that make things a bit more pleasant on a blustery day.

Another use of electric heaters may be found in the automotive industry. Block heaters are used to heat the engine of a car while being plugged into a regular outlet. In the parts of the United States that are affected by severe winter temperatures, these electric heaters are a staple necessity, since they prevent the engine oil from gelling, thus preserving the life of the cars’ engines.

Electric heaters are available for a wide variety of other applications. For example, now on the market are ceiling fans that double as space heaters. By relying on the fact that hot air rises, and by heating the air around them slightly, these fans may now be used during the fall and winter months to add additional warmth to cold zones in any room, without having to spend the money to heat the entire house. Another form of electric heaters now emerging on the market are “under carpet heaters” which promise to increase the comfort of any room by gently heating the floor. At this point, wall-to-wall under carpet heaters are not yet available, but if a room has one ore more area rugs, the manufacturers do promise a noticeable increase in comfort on those chilly days.
