PRS Blast & Recovery System
Reduce Operating Costs and Improve Finishes

Using ′′economical′′ blast media, such as sand or slag, for industrial blasting can be very costly indeed. Because these low-cost abrasives break clown so quickly, reusing them is impractical. As a result, you′re constantly paying for replacement media, disposal of spent media, and man hours to move this material around-all of which can put a big drain on your profits.
With Empire′s pneumatic Blast & Recovery System (PRS), you can tap the cost-saving advantages of more durable media for only a modest investment. Empire′s PRS lets you move up to recyclable media, such as aluminum oxide, chilled iron and steel grit, which can be used effectively over and over-from 6 to 200 times. The result is usually a very attractive return on investment in media savings alone.
Reusable media are also faster acting and less dusty, meaning you get the additional advantages of increased productivity and a cleaner working environment. With the PRS, you can move blasting operations into enclosures to comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations. And, because the PRS recycles good media while removing dust and fines, blasting results are more consistent.
Simple blast controls and convenient media-loading procedures make Empire′s PRS very easy to operate. A built-in access ladder and viewing window in the systems storage hopper are just two examples of the PRS′s many friendly features. And, with heavy-duty duct, an Ultra wear-lined reclaimer, and a silicone carbide nozzle, you know the system is designed to last.
  • Tunable media reclaimer assures high-quality results by recycling only the correct-size media. Ultra wear lining on reclaimer interior provides excellent durability.
  • SuperBlast® pressure system, with dependable Sure-Flo® grit valve, simplifies maintenance and yields high production rates.
  • Media recovery hopper can be moved around work area for easy media retrieval. Optional long troughs allow media to be swept into system without shoveling.
  • Dust collector, which captures 99% of particles one micron in size or larger, permits conveying air to be recirculated into the workplace, thereby reducing HVAC costs.
  • Pressure blower, with 10-horsepower motor, extends effective work area and recovers media at rates exceeding 70 pounds per hour. System handles media sizes up to A-12 aluminum oxide and G-25 steel grit.
Indexing Turntable Machines
The fixturing available in our indexing turntables machines is extensive and flexible. Often, Empire creates fixtures to handle different parts within the same machine.
Tumble Blast
DeLong Equipment offers wheel tumble blasting services for excellent metal finishing of parts in any shape or size. A 100 % cost effective fabrication job is what you can expect out of our blasting procedures. DeLong incorporates a large inventory of finishing equipments and bio clean compounds to offer best of class blasting services to fit your needs.

Our state-of-the-art wheel blast equipments are comprised of Manganese wire mesh belts and Spinner hangers that ensure continuous monorail systems. The blast wheel is an important element of the Tumble blasting unit that initiates the cleaning process extensively. The design and type of wheels used greatly influence the efficiency of the entire operation.

DeLong’s wheel blasting features include:
  • Surface preparation and enhancement
  • Abrasive and Bio- clean compound blasting
  • Automated robotic cleaning
  • Full part exposure
  • Standard equipment maintenance procedures
  • Advanced in-house job shop
  • Finishing for varied material specifications
  • High production rate
Parts enter the unit through the mess belts and processing starts beneath the blast wheel. Abrasives are shot at high frequencies in specific patterns to effectively remove any kind of dirt or rust from the work piece. The nature, property, size and weight of the metal is carefully examined and analyzed before proceeding with the blasting process.
Vibratory
DeLong offers all kinds of light and heavy deburring services through comprehensive techniques and procedures. Our vibratory deburring equipments can handle large volumes of heavy metals with ease. Your specifications are dealt with precision care and executed flawlessly.

We are fully equipped with an inventory of vibratory finishing equipments that include disc finishers, vibratory bowls, vibratory tubs, spin finishers, high energy machines, drag finish machines, and several types of dryers as well. The following are some of the features you receive through our customized processes:
  • Uniform polishing at microscopic levels
  • Traditional deburring techniques
  • Plastic, ceramic and steel vibratory media
  • High speed deburring
  • Efficient heavy metal burr removal
Vibratory deburring processes refine the surface structure of metals by rubbing parts through specific circular vibrations. Parts are dumped into large chambers and the vibration initiated causes the parts to collide with each other causing deburring. The type of finishing is determined by the choice of media and nature of compound used. We at DeLong offer vibratory deburring using three different media like plastic, ceramic and steel. Our media are heavy enough to polish microscopic burr patterns with ease.

The different kinds of media follow specific formulation for each and every type of metal that is dealt with. Good, medium, fine and outstanding cuts with relatively low RMS are offered at varying blend and abrasive levels.

Aggressive deburring of relatively bad imperfections, holes and cavities are ensured through our vibratory deburring processes. Flatness is achieved through plastic media whereas heavy cutting is made possible by ceramic media. Glossy, super fine finish with flashy texture is obtained through our steel media.

120 Cuft Big Clem Bulk Blast Machines
Unbeatable for production, strength and safety

Clemco makes Bulk Blast Machines that outperform every competitive unit on the market. Clemco’s extensive inventory of manual, automatic and remote controls allow flexible configurations to match large scale production needs exactly. A built in Pop-Up valve for quickly loading abrasive and an optional operator controlled Abrasive Cut-off Switch operated at the blast nozzle are a boost to production rates, drastically cutting back on down time.

Big Clems are offered in three sizes: 60, 120 and 160 cubic feet (pressure vessel abrasive volume). Each size is available as stationary, yard towable or highway towable. Nine models give you a wide choice to meet your specific bulk blast requirements.

Superb quality features make the Clemco Big Clem unbeatable! Strong steel frame trailer, axles and wheels not duplicated by any of our competitors. Additional safety is provided through four wheel brakes and emergency break-away switch on highway models and multi-ply tires based on weight loads.

Top and bottom of the blast pressure vessels are fitted with semi elliptical chamber ends. The shape of the bottom of the blast chambers allows freer flow of abrasive by eliminating dead space. All Big Clems are built to strict ASME codes for pressure vessels. Unique to the Big Clem is a 12” X 16” manway located in the side of the pressure vessel to permit access to the chamber interior for cleaning and maintenance.

Clemco’s Big Clems incorporate the latest operator safety technology. The operator has complete control over air and abrasive flow with a fail-to-safe system initiated in an emergency by a “dead man” switch located at the nozzle. The operator can also cut off abrasive flow while maintaining air flow to permit blow off of blasted parts or work pieces.
