Bright-Tex™ Abrasive Wheels Metals Hub - Type ′′BTF′′
Style BTF-4 Ply
Metal Hub
Fine Grit Grading

Bright-Tex™ material is a non-woven, non-directional, nylon fiber mesh that is impregnated and coated throughout with fused abrasive grit. The open-mesh structure permits Bright-Tex™ wheels to be flexible, resilient, cool running, and conforming to flat, convex/concave areas. The open-mesh reduces wheel loading and creates minimal heat buildup on the work surface. Bright- Tex wheels may be used wet or dry and do not require dressings with polishing compound to achieve results. Bright-Tex wheels should not be confused with the aggressive cutting and stock removal effects of setup polishing wheels or coated abrasive belts. Bright-Tex is intended for light duty finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic, glass, ceramic and wood articles for such uses as:
  • Satin, decorative antique and scratch finishes
  • Blending, highlighting and polishing
  • Removing rust, oxides, flashing, weld burn, etc.
  • Preparing surfaces for painting, plating, anodizing, lacquering, etc.
  • Light deburring, cleaning, brushing
Bright-Tex™ Abrasive Loose Discs
Style ′′BTMD′′
Single Ply, medium Bright-Tex™ Disc with reinforced brass grommet arbor hole.

Zippo™ Bias-Cut Flannel Buffs - Metal Centre - Type ′′NF′′
The ′′NF′′ flannel buffs are made from napped, unsewed plies of soft flannel cloth. Recommended for color buffing easily marred surfaces such as gold, silver, platinum and acrylics, such as Lucite, Plexi-glass and urethane paints. Bias construction reduces fraying and thread pull-out.

Unfused Aluminum Oxide Abrasives
Microgrit® PXA Abrasives are designed for use in the manufacture of polish and buffing compositions, tumbling creams and lapping compounds: both wet and dry tumbling operations and for finish work on metallographic and crystallographic specimens. They are prepared in ceramic lined equipment to eliminate metal contamination and are uniformly white in color. Particle size and absorptive properties are controlled within very close limits.

MICROGRIT® PXA varies by particle size and absorption rates.
Custom Abrasive
While Micro Abrasives Corporation offers one of the most diverse lines of abrasive products many variations on these standard products have proven valuable. Variations in particle size for demanding and special applications are available. You are invited to discuss your special requirements at any time.

Because of Micro Abrasives highly specialized yet flexible equipment setup and its unique experience in the manufacturing of fine abrasive powders, Micro Abrasives Corporation is able to offer true customer service in the preparation of special grade abrasives. Where these may be required for refractors, ceramics, coatings, or any other unusual application for abrasive powders, custom products can be developed and manufactured in large or small quantities. No cost or obligation is involved for development work done by Micro Abrasives Corporation.

Microgrit® SL and Microgrit® PLT Abrasive
These slurries provide the optimum use of the abrasive particles for excellent control of surface finishes and will increase stock removal rates. Microgrit® SL and PLT are designed to work with all of Micro Abrasives products. (WCA, LPA, SIC, BC, G, GB, CEO, PXA, WA, A) and to be compatible with any double or single side lapping or free abrasive machine. They can include rust inhibitors, suspension agents, anti- foam agents or whatever is required.
Lapping Compounds
From its inception in 1921, the Stutz Company has been exclusively dedicated to solving problems for the metalworking Industries. For more than 75 years, STUTZ abrasive lapping compounds have helped machinists, mechanics, tool and die makers and machine builders create optimal surfaces on machine parts, valve seats, piston rings, gear teeth and other mating surfaces.

Lapping is the only positive way of insuring the optimal fit of two surfaces, whether flat, or contoured. STUTZ abrasive lapping compounds are engineered, formulated and produced for the cutting, smoothing, finishing and polishing of metal surfaces following stock removal techniques such as grinding, milling, boring, honing and EDM machining.

For dependability, uniformity and consistent cutting you need the finest abrasive lapping compounds available today. The results of more than 75 years of continual research and improvement, STUTZ lapping compounds are the best available, anywhere and every time! Use STUTZ abrasive compounds to:
  • Perform efficient stock removal
  • Achieve critical thickness
  • Produce surface flatness
  • Enhance surface finish
The Right Abrasive, Formulation and Packaging for Your Job
Ranging from very coarse to extremely fine, STUTZ abrasive compounds are formulated for maximum production efficiency in specific applications. STUTZ abrasive compounds are available in oil, synthetic and water-based ′′prescription accurate′′ formulations.

Aluminum Oxide fused blocky tan grains or white platelets cut slightly slower than silicon carbide but can tolerate higher grinding pressures. Moh′s Hardness of 9.0.

Silicon Carbide crystals are hard and sharp for fast cutting on most metals. The crystals break in the lapping process creating more sharp edges for consistent cutting performance. Moh′s Hardness 9.5.

Boron Carbide crystals are extremely hard and sharp for excellent performance on even the toughest metals. Boron carbide can often be used instead of diamond pastes for a fraction of the cost, Moh′s Hardness 9.7.

STUTZ lapping compounds are consistent from batch to batch and uniformly abrasive from the top of the container to the bottom. We purchase only the finest quality abrasives from ISO 9000 approved manufacturers. Grading is precisely controlled and tested. Grit sizes are FEPA graded and exceed industry standards.
STUTZ compounds are non-caking and can be used directly from the shipping container. A wide range of packaging configurations are available, from 12 oz. jars to 350 gallon totes.

Precisely Matched To Your Production Needs
If one of our many stock compounds or packages is not ideal for your production needs, we′ll work with you to develop an affordable custom solution.

Leading The Way In Water-Washable Compounds
Responding to the increasing environmental pressures you face, we are on the leading edge of water-based and water-washable biodegradable compound development. As an added benefit, water-based formulations provide easier cleaning of lapped parts in water and detergent cleaning machines.
