Astro Manufacturing, Inc. has the in-house talent and machinery to handle all of your general machining needs. More than 30 general machinists with an average career span of 15 years are dedicated to providing you with superior service and precision machining. No matter how large or complex the project, we′ll provide you with fast, accurate service every time.
Our highly skilled machinists have access to more than 80 Bridgeports, featuring computerized digital readouts. Using this state-of-the-art technology, we can machine parts to your unique specifications.
We also use over 15 precision metalworking lathes, including Hardinge precision machines. This equipment allows us to produce your innovative prototypes and production quality machined parts.
Our machinists provide a full range of grinding services to meet all your
close tolerance requirements. These skilled machinists work closely with our general machinists to deliver exacting tolerance on precision parts. We offer surface grinding of parts up to 38′′ long and I.D./O.D. grinding up to 18′′ in diameter. |
 | Heavy Fabricating
Astro Manufacturing & Design also has an entire department dedicated exclusively to heavy fabricating and welding. Our complete heavy metal fabricating capabilities include forming, shearing, laser cutting and welding services. We combine quality and experience to provide virtually any size project from prototype to production runs, ranging from small weldments to heavy plate fabrications and structural assemblies. Our certified welders are experienced in carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and most alloys. We also offer machining services for these fabrications ranging from small milling work to large boring mill operations. |

Astro Manufacturing & Design offers state-of-the-art urethane molding services that can create models emulating a variety of specialized properties, including water clear urethanes, polypropylenes and materials such as ABS.
An economical alternative to other costly molding processes, urethane molding provides cost effective solutions for the medical, electronic, automotive, toy and food service industries. This innovative process allows us to replicate complex shapes, fine details, textures and colors. MCP Vacuum Casting Resins can be formulated to various durometers and heat resistance and can simulate most plastics and resins. This process reduces turnaround time and provides a high degree of accuracy and consistency of quality.
To reduce the costs involved in product development projects, Astro uses an automated vacuum casting process that produces high-quality, dimensionally stable prototypes. These cost-effectively produced parts can easily tolerate the rigors of pre-market testing and evaluation. Astro has the in-house capabilities to produce a single sample or perform a small production run.
