Our highly skilled machinists have access to more than 80 Bridgeports, featuring computerized digital readouts. Using this state-of-the-art technology, we can machine parts to your unique specifications.
We also use over 15 precision metalworking lathes, including Hardinge precision machines. This equipment allows us to produce your innovative prototypes and production quality machined parts.
Our machinists provide a full range of grinding services to meet all your
close tolerance requirements. These skilled machinists work closely with our general machinists to deliver exacting tolerance on precision parts. We offer surface grinding of parts up to 38′′ long and I.D./O.D. grinding up to 18′′ in diameter.
Sinker EDM Astro Manufacturing & Design strives to be at the forefront of advanced machining services. That′s why we′ve invested heavily in EDM technology. In addition to our wire EDM services, Astro offers precision sinker EDM services as well.
With sinker EDM technology, Astro can manufacture parts of unimaginable complexity - even on the most rigid of materials. Astro′s sinker EDM feature CNC capabilities that enable us to machine complex profiles into a surface or add threads into a fully hardened part.
We employ a wide assortment of sinker EDM machines to cover a range of close tolerance parts from very small to those requiring working areas as large as 47 1/4′′ x 31 1/2′′ x 17 3/4′′ high.
Our skilled machinists and engineers have the training and experience to offer design suggestions that will help ensure you receive the most cost effective parts available. CMM Inspection In addition to a wide variety of inspection tools and equipment, Astro offers a complete complement of Coordinate Measuring Machines, including a fully programmable Zeiss system capable of extreme accuracy. You can be assured that the inspection equipment used on your work will ensure the accuracy needed to provide you with quality parts.
Heavy Fabricating Astro Manufacturing & Design also has an entire department dedicated exclusively to heavy fabricating and welding. Our complete heavy metal fabricating capabilities include forming, shearing, laser cutting and welding services. We combine quality and experience to provide virtually any size project from prototype to production runs, ranging from small weldments to heavy plate fabrications and structural assemblies. Our certified welders are experienced in carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and most alloys. We also offer machining services for these fabrications ranging from small milling work to large boring mill operations.
General Prototyping Astro Manufacturing & Design has the in-house talent and technology to offer a broad range of prototyping services. We can take your concept or idea and help you quickly and cost-effectively turn it into a durable, precision prototype.
