Gun Drilling Unions
Talco, Inc. takes pride in the machining and assembly of High Capacity Gun Drilling Unions, to handle high-pressure coolant and provide dynamic sealing for demanding applications.

Gun drilling coolant unions are a special type of rotary union (also known as ′′rotary joint′′) designed to deliver heat transfer or cooling fluid directly to the center of the tool, where it is needed to prevent overheating and breakage of the gun drill.

Talco’s gun drilling unions feature a passage size of over one-half inch, which provides a high fluid handling capacity to the rotary joint (sometimes also called a ′′swivel joint′′). Our gun drilling unions also feature balanced sintered silicon carbide face seals. These high quality and durable balanced seals use external spring pressure to maintain a positive seal within the gun drilling union or joint. The operating pressure of the coolant will not affect the seal load. The gun drilling union is supported by ABEC 1 Radial Contact Ball Bearings. Our gun drilling union or joint also features a nickel-plated steel shaft and an aluminum housing.

Talco’s high capacity gun drilling unions operate with a maximum hydraulic pressure of 1500 PSI (100 bar), a maximum temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Centigrade), and a maximum speed of 5000 RPM.

Talco is also happy to do custom work. We specialize in adapting our products to fit your machines, temperature ranges and pressure requirements. We can manufacture rotary unions in stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel. Contact our engineering department with your needs.

Series 7100 Multi-Passage Flange Mounted Rotary Unions
Talco′s new 7100 series has improved upon and replaced our 7000 series Multi-Passage Flange Mounted Rotary Unions, also known as Multi-Passage Flange Mounted Rotary Joints. These multi-passage, flange-mounted unions are designed for extremely high hydraulic pressures while running at moderate RPM’s. We offer you a design that incorporates Two Deep Groove ball bearings and our unique ′′Advanced Compound Sealing Technology′′ slipper seal design that provides you with a product that has a longer life, lower torque and better performance than standard ′′O′′-ring loaded slipper seals.

All of the units within the 7100 series will provide an even loading of the entire seal interface area, tremendously high extrusion resistance, hardened and ground shaft and an ultra hard low friction surface. All models are available with NPT, BSP, SAE or Metric Threads. And Stocked in Aluminum or Steel Housings. All stainless steel construction is available upon request for superior corrosion resistance, and we do stock a variety of these ready to ship or we can modify these units to your exact requirements.

All units are CAD and RFQ Interfaced enabled. If the models listed do not meet your needs, please contact our experienced and knowledgeable sales staff and they will be happy to help you find a Rotary Union to meet your requirements.

Single Passage Rotary Unions
Single-Passage Rotary Unions, also known as Rotary Joints, can be used for various applications within all types of industries. The Single-Passage Rotary Unions can be used to move oil, air, water, steam, industrial gases, hydraulic fluids, Vacuum, as well as other mediums. The transfer of the medium in the Single-Passage Rotary Union is in one direction through the joint. An outstanding feature is that media can be moved at high speeds and at high pressures.

All models of Single Passage Rotary Unions are available with Right- or Left-Hand Thread on the Rotor. There are also various housing options available. All of our Single-Passage Rotary Unions can be constructed from Stainless Steel upon request for outstanding corrosion resistance. All Single-Passage Rotary Union models are CAD and RFQ Interface Enabled.

For your convenience, Talco, Inc. offers two series of Single-Passage Rotary Unions, the 2200 Series and the 2300 Series. Within the two series we offer a range of sizes for Rotor Threads and Housing Threads in both American and Metric Units. If the size you are looking for is not listed, Talco, Inc. will customize the Single-Passage Rotary Union to your specifications.
Coaxial Rotary Unions
Talco, Inc. manufactures and customizes a variety of coaxial rotary unions (also know as coaxial rotary joints or coaxial swivel joints) for liquid or gas transfer.

These multi-passage coaxial rotary unions consist of our 8000 series and the 9300 series rotary unions.

Rotary unions, sometimes also called rotary valves or rotary manifolds, are used in a wide range of manufacturing and other processes to permit the flow of heat transfer media, such as steam, water, thermal and hydraulic oil, or coolant, from a stationary supply pipe to a moving part such as a rotating drum or cylinder. The liquid or gas medium is contained within the rotary union or joint with the use of a mechanical seal and seal ring. Talco manufactures rotary unions in stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel.

Both our 8000 series and our 9300 series multi-passage coaxial rotary unions can feature an NPT or BSP thread, and a steel rotor and aluminum housing (and can be constructed entirely in stainless steel, if desired, for especially tough environments). They come with both American and Metric specifications. Applications of these rotary unions include the transfer of a variety of process fluids such as industrial chemicals, high temperature oils, water, coolant and others.

We at Talco are also happy to do custom work. Just give us the specifications for the special custom rotary joint or coolant union your application requires. We specialize in adapting our products to fit your machines, temperature ranges and pressure requirements. Contact our engineering department with your needs.
