Many variable beam-width antennas force the user to gain access to the radome enclosure in order to make adjustments. The process is time consuming and makes testing cumbersome. Field disassembly of any high performance sector antenna also increases the risk of improper reassembly and the introduction of moisture or contaminants. Adjustments are made to the Laird Technologies′ antenna using a locking adjustment mechanism that is accessed without having to disassemble the antenna. The user makes his adjustments, locks down the adjustment mechanism and the job is done. On site testing of various beam-width options is a snap since the antenna does not have to be disassembled and reassembled with each change.
