 | Sectional Extendable Borescopes Lenox extendable borescopes are supplied as a complete kit in two models: with a diameter of 23 mm and a working length of 28 in., or with a 35 mm diameter and working length of 53 in. The instruments consist of two sections that are threaded together. When you need to increase the working length, you simply unthread the two sections and add one or more extender sections. By adding extender sections, you can increase the working length up to 1200 in.
Each extendable borescope comes complete with probe body and eyepiece with adjustable focus, right-angle viewing head with objective lens (usually 55o field of view, although fields of view from 15o to 180o are available), variable transformer, spare incandescent lamps (a black light attachment is one of many accessories available) and a fitted protective case. Threaded extender sections are available in 36 in. and 60 in., lengths. And, you can choose from five different optional interchangeable viewing heads. All Lenox extendable borescopes are digital and video adaptable. |
 | Universal Inspector Borescopes The Universal Inspector is a high quality, expandable, fiberoptic borescope system that addresses current and future inspection needs by allowing you to add additional components as needs change. Lenox Universal Inspector will replace up to 18 conventional rigid borescopes with one affordable, convenient, state-of-the-art system. Using this modular system, you can enter through openings as small as 4 mm, go in up to 60 in., and inspect via direct, right angle, forward oblique or retrospective viewing angles with 10o to 85o fields of view and 360o orbital viewing.
Universal Inspector provides a versatile solution of interchangeable components that can be purchased separately as needs change. The heart of the system is the universal eyepiece assembly that includes a universal scope and focus control. Attaching a rotatable objective sleeve (available in right angle, forward oblique and retrospective viewing) completes the system. The system can be quickly expanded and reconfigured by replacing the objective sleeve with one or more thread-on extensions and one of six objective viewing heads.
The Universal Inspector Fiberoptic Probe requires at a minimum an Eyepiece and an Objective Sleeve or an Objective Head to be operational. Select the Eyepiece probe diameter and Objective Sleeve(s) or Objective Head(s) fit the intended use. An extender section can be added for additional length with the objective head. Call Lenox for alternative eyepiece and sealed objective sleeve lengths. |

 | New Lenox Twist-A-View Borescope Offers Versatile, Low Cost Fiberoptic Borescope Solution
Trevose, Pa – Lenox Instrument Company, the manufacturer of the original borescope, today announced the offering of a new flexible fiberoptic orbital probe borescope. The new Twist-A-View Borescope allows for full 360 degree inspections of tight, restricted areas with a simple twist of the scope.
′′We wanted to provide users with a versatile, affordable, and portable flexible borescope that could be depended upon for a wide range of visual inspection uses,” said Paul Lang, vice president of Lenox Instrument Company. “The new Twist-A-View Borescope is a fully featured fiberoptic borescope that is capable of performing the same duties as an articulated flex scope and a rigid borescope.′′
The 360 degree rotation is made possible by a 90 degree right angle viewing adaptor, which is supplied with the Twist-A-View Borescope. In addition, at just 4mm (.157”) in diameter, the 28 inch Twist-A-View Borescope can be ‘snaked’ into tight locations requiring visual inspections. High resolution is produced by 17,000 fiber optic pixels, which deliver an image nearly equal in quality to those delivered from rigid borescopes. An achromatic eyepiece provides users a crisp image covering the entire field of view.
Further enhancing the Twist-A-View Borescope’s visual inspection capabilities is a portable, battery operated LED light source. The LED delivers a bright white light at 5500 degrees Kelvin with a light intensity of 20,000 lux at a distance of 16mm (.629”), illuminating even the darkest areas.
′′The Twist-A-View Borescope represents a great value for users seeking a borescope that offers all of the sharpness and capabilities of a rigid borescope, but requiring the versatility of a flexible scope,” said Lang. “We expect the new borescope will be priced at less than $2000.′′
Ideal for a wide range of inspection applications, the portable Lenox Twist-A-View Borescope and LED light source are used to inspect for corrosion, leaks, cracks, stress, wear, blockages, deposits, and debris, and are recommended for inspecting turbine, gas or diesel engines, combustion chambers, pumps and valves, pipelines, tubing, castings, and machined parts.
The Twist-A-View Borescope is both waterproof and resistant to oil and fuel. With a bend radius of 30mm (1.18”) the Twist-A-View Borescope has a working distance from 5mm (.197”) to infinity, and a field of view of 40 degrees.
Every Lenox Twist-A-View Borescope includes a carrying case, portable LED illumination, and an extension cable for the LED light source. Video and digital still camera packages are available. Lenox Twist-A-View Borescopes, Model 6800SFK-720, are in stock and available for delivery at an introductory price of $1966.00, and like all Lenox products, is backed by a 2 year warranty.

 | New Lenox Instrument Swing Prism Borescope Offers Full 360 Degree Orbital Viewing
Trevose, PA -- Lenox Instrument Company, the manufacturer of the original borescope, today, announced the offering of a new 360 degree orbital borescope that combines three viewing angles into one and an available 2X zoom eyepiece for magnified inspection. This new design provides the functionality of two or three conventional borescopes into one convenient package.
′′The new Lenox 360 Degree Swing Prism Borescope combines right angle, forward oblique, and retrospective viewing angles into one tool,′′ said Paul Lang, vice president at Lenox Instrument Company. ′′Our borescope is designed to provide cost savings and convenience for clients who perform factory or field inspections where, in the past, multiple scopes may have been required to carry out inspections that called for various viewing angles.′′
Lenox is currently offering the swing prism borescope in seven different models, each offering a 120 degree viewing arc, diameters ranging from 6mm to 8mm, and working lengths of 290mm to 910mm. Most Lenox swing prism borescope models are adaptable to optional digital camera or video systems.
′′When using more than one borescope during inspection, the user cannot be certain that the entire area has been inspected,′′ said Lang. ′′By sweeping the entire area with the Lenox swing prism borescope, the user can be sure to see everything in the inspection area.′′
A simple control on the borescope eyepiece lets the user adjust the viewing angle of the prism located on the front of the scope without withdrawing the borescope from the subject undergoing inspection. In addition, the new Lenox swing prism borescope will accommodate openings as small as 6.0mm (.236 inch).
Ideal for inspecting for corrosion, leaks, cracks, stress, wear, blockages, deposits, and debris, the Lenox swing prism borescope is recommended for inspecting turbine, gas or diesel engines, combustion chambers, pumps and valves, pipelines, tubing, castings, and machined parts.
′′Currently, we have clients who depend on our swing prism borescope to perform inspections on Caterpillar® diesel engines, and GE, Siemans, and Rolls Royce turbine engines,′′ said Lang. ′′Those clients and others in the aerospace and power generation industries rely on the accuracy and dependability Lenox products provide to ensure their equipment operates efficiently.′′
