But given the different environments and range of pressures the product had to withstand, the prototype failed Sealtech′s QC specifications. We recommended a stronger, more expensive material so the cell would function according to specifications. The customer knew our motivation - there′s no savings if the product fails. Sealtech′s Quality Assurance Program designs techniques that prevent problems for our customers. It may be more labor intensive but it′s cheaper in the long run. Seating RF Sealed Products It was a quality issue that became a production problem. Their company was sewing truck seats, embossing logos, and filling orders for the high end heavy-duty truck market. For one reason or another, they started getting a lot of inconsistent parts, sew lines were crooked, and they weren′t getting a quick turn around. They were relying on the same technology that was used when the company was founded. Radio Frequency welding was not new to their industry but the possibilities for production had not been realized. They thought a good quality seat had to be sewn. The market was changing and traditional production could not meet demand.
Sealtech engineers worked with them on developing tooling that included a traditional ′′stitched seat′′ look. We gave them what they needed: consistent parts... high end, high volume parts. What might take a sewing machine operator minutes to sew, we could RF weld and die cut in a matter of seconds. With Sealtech′s method of production, we were able to keep up with a line set requirements and the expanding demand. Multiple locations across the United States were no problem for Sealtech′s Blanket Program of minimum/maximum stocking levels and Just in Time delivery service. As their market grew, so did their confidence in Sealtech.
