Refrigerant Leak Testing
Whatever you’re leak testing needs are, PCU has a system for you. These cost saving systems can leak test by a simple pressure decay test to a full Mass Spectrometer with Helium Tracer Gas Charge and Recovery System. Each system is designed by our engineering staff for our customers. System control and process configurations are handled by a PLC link to an Operator Interface. The operator interface panels provide ease of use for selection criteria. Data storage and retrieval is available for verification of data and trouble shooting equipment on site or remotely. Simply tell us your leak rate requirements and let PCU recommend the ideal system for you.
Whisper Ultra Leak Detector
Whisper Ultrasonic Leak Detector is ideal for detecting and locating sources of ultrasonic sound through the use of sophisticated electronic circuitry. Unaffected by audible noise, Whisper incorporates an Internal Noise Control allowing for use in extremely noisy environments, such as mechanical rooms, and around operating chillers. Because Whisper is designed to detect ultrasound at 40.5 kHz, not even a murmur will escape detection.
Helium Mass Spectrometer Leak Test Chamber

The PCU Helium Mass Spectrometer Leak Test System is a compact easy to operate ultra fine leak test system. This system embodies PCU′s field proven testing technology in combination with modern electronic control, compact industrial design and simplified operator use. The result is durable and dependable operation with accurate and repeatable process control. The operator interface panel allows the technician to view the cycle status as it progresses. Once the system is configured, the operator is only required to load/unload the product and initiate the test.

Utilizing a high vacuum chamber, the test system is used to test pre-charged parts for leaks which are too small to be detected via vacuum or pressure decay tests. It replaces the subjective bubble leak test while eliminating hours of required test time.

Typical configuration consist of a pressurized air supply for high vacuum chamber door operation along with a 460/3/60 power supply to minimize system current draw. Once the chamber door is closed, the roughing pump evacuates the chamber in preparation for the ultra fine leak test. After part leak test is complete, the chamber is vented, the part may be removed and the system resets for the next test.
