Fasteners: Metal related categories

J-Type Fasteners

Tinnerman J-Type Speed Nut fasteners press easily into self-retained position over panel edges or in center-panel locations. They are ideally suited for blind assembly or hard-to-reach installation. Offer floating alignment to speed production and and lessen rejections.

No specal tools, skills or equipment is required. Riveting, welding, clinching, staking and other secondary fastening devices are eliminated.

J-Type Speed Nuts can be applied after painting or porcelainizing panels eliminating the need for masking or retaping operations.

U-Type Fasteners

Tinnerman U type fasteners come in metric and standard sizes. The special wide panel U nut fasteners have extra width that can cover much more capacity than single nuts.

Hi-Torque U-Type Fasteners

Tinnerman hi torque U type fasteners come in metric and standard sizes for use on metal or plastic and minimize cross threading.

Self-Aligning U-Type

Tinnerman self Aligning U type fasteners come in metric and standard sizes and in Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 applications.

Metric Palnut® Insert Panel Retained Nut - For Plastic Panels
Palnut® insert panel retained nut offers a heat treated, spring steel, single thread form in a snap-in style fastener. These nuts are recommended for application in metal panels of .70mm/1mm or .028-039′′ thickness, with a hole dimension of 8mm or 5/16′′ square.
Standard Palnut® Insert Panel Retained Nut - For Plastic Panels
Palnut® insert panel retained nut offers a heat treated, spring steel, single thread form in a snap-in style fastener. These nuts are recommended for application in metal panels of .70mm/1mm or .028-039′′ thickness, with a hole dimension of 8mm or 5/16′′ square.
Standard Palnut Pushnut Fasteners II
Tinnerman® and Palnut® Stud Receivers are ideal for applications using plain unthreaded studs such as rivets, die cast studs, tubing, nails, rods, etc. The benefits of these fasteners include:
  • Ease of application- fasteners quickly zip over unthreaded studs.
  • Positive retention, even on very smooth, hard surfaces.
  • Vibration-proof attachment.
  • Versatility- These fasteners can be made permanent or removable, as the product requires, by using the proper fastener or stud modification.
  • Reduction of parts handling, eliminating the need for special nuts, threaded collars and washers.

Design variations of our stud receivers are numerous- they can be ordered to fit over a wide range of stud sizes and shapes.

  • Type 1 Thread Cutting Screws for Metal - Course Thread
TYPE 1 Hardened steel Type 1 thread-cutting screws are made for use in metals. Use them as general purpose fasteners for almost any fastening purpose in harder metals such as steel, special alloy steels and cast iron. Utilizing a standard machine screw thread, they perform their thread cutting function in metals of any thickness and may be used over and over. Because these screws possess almost twice the strength of ordinary machine screws much smaller screws can be used. When driven into untapped holes (drilled or punched) they stay snug in their self-cut, perfectly mated threads. Type 1 thread-cutting screws conform to American National Standard machine screw dimensions and tolerances. Where required, they can be specified in brass, bronze, stainless steel or aluminum on special order.

Type 23 Thread Cutting Screws for Castings - Course Thread
TYPE 23 These specially designed self-threading screws are for use in zinc, aluminum and other soft metal die castings. Employing a wider thread-cutting slot, they allow ample clearance for chips. And, the off-center slot presents an acute angle, with sharp cutting edges for best cutting performance. Type 23 screws are often used in plastics where a standard machine screw thread is desired. They can also be used in harder metals where the advantages of a wide cutting slot are important; or use them for assembly of electrical components of copper or bronze. Made of heat treated, hardened steel,Type 23 screws are available in other materials such as stainless steel, Monel, brass or aluminum on special order.
