Flooded Stationary Batteries SBS wet cell batteries are available in a variety of designs & engineering technologies for high-rate, intermediate & long duration discharge profiles suited for Utility substation (recloser), Uninterruptible Power Systems & Telecommunications environments. SBS designs its flooded product for a 25 year life with a 20 year pro-rated warranty, 5 of which are at 100% replacement value. SBS wet cells can provide an extremely high power density per any given footprint. We produce a standard 2v single cell jar that allows for replacement & maintenance without disabling the dc bus. We also have 6v-3 cell & 12v-6cell monoblocks designed especially for those applications that require the longevity & performance of flooded technology but need the absolute smallest footprint such as Utility & Process control systems. SBS Valve Regulated Ni-Cad Batteries VRPP Series VRPP (valve regulated pocket plate) batteries were designed to meet the needs of applications requiring the traditional high reliability of nickel cadmium pocket plate cells without the need to top-up with water. The VRPP battery works on the oxygen recombination principle and therefore has a much reduced water consumption. The level of recombination of these cells is 85-95%. Normal vented type cells will have only a 30-35% recombination efficiency. When the VRPP cells are properly float charged (between 1.41-1.43vpc) they will not need to be topped off with water for nearly 20 years. If the levels do become low during the life of the battery there are provisions to add water to the cells. The VRPP batteries are available in 1.2V single cells or 2.4V or 3.6V multi-cell blocks. SBS’s VRPP batteries are supplied with the electrolyte, intercell connectors, related hardware and accessories required for normal operation and maintenance
The “PURE” series batteries employ pure Lead-Tin, thin plate technology for high performance. These Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries are designed using Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) separators that render the batteries spill-proof. Use of AGM separators in combination with self-resealing, pressure regulating valves and a starved electrolyte design enable recombination of gasses generated during normal operation. This eliminates the need for electrolyte top-up.
