The aluminum foam cores are metallurgically bonded to aluminum alloy face sheets, no bonding agents are used in between layers, resulting in an all aluminum construction. This construction offers an advantage over honeycomb panels. In addition, the sandwich geometry provides very high stiffness-to-weigh ratios. Customizable to meet customer specifications, aluminum foam panels are available to panel sizes up to 48 x 96 x 0.35 to 4 inch thick.
