C&U Americas, the North American subsidiary of the C&U Group, which claims to be the 11th largest bearing manufacturer in the world, has joined both the Bearing Specialists Association and Power Transmission Distributors Association.
William A. Childers, president of C&U Americas, which is based in Plymouth, Mich., said the moves will help the company build its brand image in the U.S. and also enable it to make contributions toward forwarding the bearing industry.
The Bearing Specialists Association consists of around 100 bearing-distribution companies. The Power Transmission Distributors Association represents more than 170 power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distribution firms as well as nearly 180 manufacturers that supply the PT/MC industry.
C&U is said to be the largest bearing manufacturer in China, reportedly producing more than 1.8 million bearings daily from seven plants. C&U Americas supplies ball and roller bearings and other bearing types into the water and hydraulic pump and industrial transmission and motor markets, among others.
