Filtration Group to Acquire Porex

Filtration Group Corp., the parent company of the Jonell and Clear Edge brands, has acquired Porex Corp., which manufactures and distributes porous polymer products.

The combined company will “have a robust portfolio of products and technologies that serve a diverse range of end markets,” according to a statement. Those cited include water and energy, mining, industrial, food and beverage, health care, and consumer. The formed company reportedly will have customers in 65 countries.

PorexPorex, based in Fairburn, Ga., manufactures molded sintered porous plastic components, porous glass-fiber media, bioactivated media, and porous composites. Its technologies are found in filtration/separation, cross-flow filtration, antimicrobial, venting, wicking, diffusion, and other applications.

The M&A is a product of two investment companies: Filtration Group is owned by Chicago-based Madison Capital Partners, and Porex was in the hands of Aurora Capital Group.

Filtration Group makes industrial liquid, air, and fluid filtration products. It operates facilities in 20 countries under three divisions: Liquid/Process, Environmental Air, and Fluid.
