Hayward Tackles Corrosive Applications with GF-PP Pneumatic Actuator Line

Hayward Flow Control has released a line of pneumatic actuators housed in glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene (GF-PP) bodies. The GF-PP housings give the PMD4/PMS4 line corrosion resistance and applicability in environments and atmospheres unsuitable for metal actuators.

The PMD4/PMS4 series comes in several sizes for use with Hayward ball valves up through 6 in, and butterfly valves through 4 in. Available in both double acting and spring return designs, the PMD4 has a torque range, at 80 psi supply, from 125 in-lb to 500 in-lb, whereas the PMS4 features a range of 44 in-lb to 230 in-lb. All sizes have NAMUR VDI/VDE 3845 mounting for solenoids and ISO5211 mounting base.

Hayward GFPP Act CorrosiveThe actuators uses an anodized aluminum two-piston rack-and-pinion design. Features include a stainless steel shaft and stainless steel fasteners, an external position indicator, Buna-N seals and 0.25-in NPT air connections. Options include solenoid valves for double-acting air-to-open and close, solenoid valves with optional voltages, auxiliary switch control and cycle speed controls.

Typical applications include waste and water treatment, chemical transfer and processing, food and beverage, pulp and paper, mining, marine and other salt water corrosive environments.
