The ST51 Series is highly rated under a variety of safety standards, including FM, CSA/CRN, Class 1, Div 1, Groups V, C, D. The meters have been designed for high-precision measurements in potentially dangerous working areas, such as wet, dirty biogas environments. FCI designed the meter to be clog-resistant while maintaining its ability to measure flow even at very low flow rates. The meter features no moving parts and an explosion-proof transmitter on the non-clogging meter body.
FCI says the ST51 Series is equipped with an insertion-style flow element specifically to measure biogas, methane-type natural gas, and digester gas. It uses a proprietary thermal dispersion method to ensure direct mass flow measurement without the use of costly thermal devices. The meters, which have a flow element of 2 to 24 in, are rated for flow measurement accuracy within 1 percent of a flow range from 0.3 to 400 sfps.
FCI equipped the ST51 series with advanced electronics to allow for increased precision, self-recalibration, and general accuracy. The meter is recommended for use in landfill gas recovery, wastewater treatment plant digester, coal mine methane recovery, livestock and dairy farm on-farm biogas recovery, biofermentation and recovery, and biomas gasification.
