Two Kaydon divisions have formed a new business group to assemble a focus on filtration solutions for air and liquid applications. Kaydon Environmental Services Group will consist of Kaydon Custom Filtration, which operates in bulk oil and fuel purification, and Purafil, the maker of gas-phase filtration, air monitoring instrumentation and clean-air purification systems.
Kaydon is looking to double its filtration business over the next five years by leveraging market synergies, shared resources and expanded capabilities out of the merged group. Purafil’s president, James Mash, will serve as president of the Environmental Services Group.
Kaydon Custom Filtration is located in LaGrange, Ga., while Purafil is based in Doraville, Ga. While both are near each other, on opposite sides of Atlanta, there was no word on whether the two divisions will be brought to one physical location.
Kaydon acquired Purafil in 2005.
