Siemens Process Instrumentation has christened its new U.S. Valve Positioner Configuration Center in Spring House, Pa. Part of Siemens’ 40,000-square-foot facility in Spring House, it will assemble the company’s Sipart PS2 electropneumatic valve positioners (pictured).
Siemens says the new center will better support its valve market activities amid growth in the power generation, chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries. It has in tow ISO 9001:208 quality-management systems, ISO 14001:2004 environmental management, and OSHA S 18001:2008 occupational health and safety management certifications.
The company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 4, celebrating the facility expansion and the result of a collaboration of international Siemens project team members. According to the company, the facility boasts employees who have been entrenched in Spring House for more than 40 years. A longtime community member, Siemens is involved in the local Caring Hands outreach and Wissahickon Creek Water Project.
The Sipart PS2 valve positioner moves the actuator to a valve position corresponding to the setpoint, serving as the control of the final control element of pneumatic linear or part-turn actuators.
