Manufacturing Day was a big success, with over 200 companies nationwide participating by hosting factory tours and educational sessions for students and community members. Machining Journal was on the scene for Manufacturing Day in New York City, as fellow writer Beth Goodbaum traveled to the Steinway & Sons piano factory in Queens and yours truly headed to the Bronx for a tour of elevator components maker G.A.L. Manufacturing Corp.

Over 750 middle-schoolers attended the Hartford State Armory in Hartford, Conn., where Senator Richard Blumenthal addressed the crowd.
