Custom wheel machinists Wheel Pros have opened facility in Atlanta to cut down delivery times for customer orders, Tire Business reports.
The facility was designed to not only improve delivery times across the country but to improve Wheel Pros’ ability to supply customizable and less common wheels. Giving a glimpse of the facility’s machining capabilities, Wheel Pros Technical Manager Keith Alinder explained to Tire Business, “Being able to drill from blank gives us a lot of inventory flexibility.”
The Atlanta facility features many of the capabilities found at Wheel Pros’ flagship Cerritos, Calif., facility, including center bore drilling and a wide variety of machining customization options.
Previously, all Wheel Pros custom orders shipped from its Cerritos location. Now, the company is offering custom shipping anywhere in the country in about a week.
“Having this additional capability in Atlanta really cuts down on our shipping time,” Alinder said. “We know customers don’t want to wait, and we can deliver orders quickly no matter where in the U.S. they are located.”
