BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc. has revamped and expanded its Unilock line of 5-axis workholding solutions. The Unilock equipment series is designed for 5-axis machining, 5-sided machining via part transfer and machines with 4t- and 5th-axis retrofit tables.
BIG Kaiser’s workholding solutions are designed for compatibility with machine tables. The Unilock workholding line presents minimized impact on the ergonomics of machine tables, allowing tool access for operators around the units. The unobtrusive workholding systems also allow operators to reorientate workpieces without removing clamps, preventing downtime.
The Unilock line includes the 5-Axis Duo Bridge, which may be attached on top of 5-axis machine tables. The Duo Bridge ships with Dual 45 degree 105/65 Base Plates and can also be loaded to tools through zero-point chucks. BIG Kaiser offers its 5-Axis Riser Chucks, Extensions and Reductions as base plates or as stocking modules at 75 mm or 100 mm. The company also advertises its First Grips and Dovetail Grips as “infinitely” adjustable.
“BIG Kaiser’s unique approach to 5-axis workholding seamlessly fits into existing workholding solutions while providing the increased flexibility of Unilock zero-point solutions,” BIG Kaiser Product Manager Gerard Vacio said in a statement. “Our clients match workholding to the workpiece and maximize the capabilities of their 5-axis machine tools. We can also provide specific solutions for your dedicated production requirements. We interface virtually any workholding product that fits in the machine.”
