Additive manufacturing equipment designer and contract manufacturer ExOne has announced the opening of a new production service center (PSC) in Las Vegas, bringing the total figure to seven PSCs around the globe.
The 17,240 sq-ft facility is located near the Southern California hub of aerospace, automotive, and energy industries. The facility will begin operation in December.
ExOne has been aggressively expanding its business offerings over the past year, opening new centers in North Huntingdon, Pa.; Troy, Mich.; Houston; Auburn, Wash.; and international locations in Augsburg, Germany and Kanagawa, Japan. The Auburn facility opened just last week.

ExOne President and CEO David Burns explained that this is another step in ExOne’s long-term expansion plans.
“We have stated our intent to have 15 global PSCs by the end of 2015 and this location will mark another step toward our goal,” he said. “Strategically located PSCs facilitate the awareness of our 3D printing technology by our customers and prospects within our targeted verticals, such as those located in the Southern California region. We have identified 163 foundries in the surrounding area of Las Vegas, making this location logistically ideal to service them. We expect the addition of this facility will help to drive further revenue growth, consistent with our expansion strategy.”
