GibbsCAM Update Focuses on Turbomachinery

gibbscam_logo1An update to the GibbsCAM software suite allows precision 5-axis machining of turbomachinery parts.

The updates, provided by GibbsCAM developer Cimatron Limited, provide simple user interface for machining complex parts such as blisks, blings, and impellers. 5-Axis MultiBlade Level 1 covers programming for simple-to mid-level complexity parts, while 5-Axis MultiBlade Level 2 provides advanced options for complex operations. Users can select from a wider array of toolpath options on Level 2 to perform precision operations around blades and mini-blades.

Both software updates allow a variety of strategic toolpath programming, such as roughing between blades, tool axis tilt controls, toolpath axis rotations, and automatic sensors that can guide stops or identify clearance measurements.

The Level 2 update provides more robust control for smoothing, finishing, and sorting by providing additional toolpath strategies and an additional fillet machining capability.
