Open Mind has released an update to its hyperCAD software to expand roughing options and tighten performance.
The hyperMAXX high-performance cutting software features modifications that improve toolpath design and maintain optimal feedrates. By avoiding sharp turns or changes in directions, modifying cutting speeds based on material geometry, and factoring chiprate into cutting path, hyperMAXX can operate mills at efficient speeds during application processing, shaving process times. HyperMAXX runs a series of algorithms based on user input and immediate, phenomenal feedback to control the tool during movement, which also helps preserve the tool life.
The hyperMAXX software also opens up complex geometry milling and roughing combined with traditional two-dimensional operations. Open Mind highlights the software’s ability to handle 3D arbitrary stock contour machining, 5-axis shape-offset roughing, and 2D pocket milling.
