Methods Machine Tools has released the Nakamura-Tome NTJ-100 Multitasking Turn/Mill Center for medical, aerospace, and general machining applications.
Methods Machine Tools notes the NTJ-100 features dynamic tool-changing capabilities, as the design allows for fast tool changes with 54 turning tool stations and 24 milling tool stations. The center also combines the versatility of two rigid turrets that can operate pinch turn and pinch mill operations with a third upper turret that operates on a swiveling B-axis for angled tooling approaches.
“The NTJ-100 is well positioned to serve a variety of industries including medical where angular features are found on components such as hip cups and bone plates,” Richard Parenteau, director of application development at Methods Machine Tools, said in a statement. “Also for example, special aerospace fuel fittings and control valves have many angled aspects which are an excellent fit for this machine.”
