Northfield Instrument Corporation has introduced a new reduced weight Model 1000 precision workholding chuck.
The 3-jaw Model 1000 air chuck measures at 10 inches in diameter and, as opposed to standard chucks that weigh about 60 pounds, it weighs in at a light 15 pounds. The chuck is designed to grip the outer diameter of a 9 inch helical gear using two pin cages measured by pitch on a left hand helix and a right hand helix.
Model 1000 air chucks are available in through-hole, high-speed and quick-change for SAE or metric. The Model 1000 is also available in custom sizes.
