Okuma Releases New Rigid 5-Axis Machining Center

MU-6300V_close-01600x480Machine tool manufacturer Okuma America has announced a new high-efficiency 5-axis machining center for multi-sided machining.

Okuma’s MU-6300V is capable of high-quality finishing and heavy-duty cutting at high speeds due to its rigid design and structure, which helps better move workpieces during operation, according to the company. The machine tool follows Okuma’s proprietary Thermo-Friendly structure principles, which help offset thermal growth by minimizing heat generation and compensating for thermal deformation.

With a 24.80-in trunnion table and a 22-hp spindle motor, the MU-6300V is capable of simultaneous machining at high speeds.

“The MU-6300V is a true workhorse machine that is able to take on the toughest materials with its dual-driven rotary trunnion design,” Okuma 5-Axis Product Specialist Kyle Klaver said in a statement. “[The MU-6300V] would be a great fit for any industry looking to add a high efficiency, 5-axis machining center especially the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries.”

The machine has already been named by Business Technology Daily News as a Best New Product.
