We’re here at McCormick Place in Chicago for the two-for-one showings of Promat 2013 and Automate 2013, the premiere automation, supply chain, robotics and distribution technology shows in North America. Although the weather outside is closer to zero degrees than I might prefer, the trade show floor is bustling with activity, from the whir of robotic pickers to old colleagues meeting yet again.
And of course, the social chatter is continuing apace. Social media has quickly become a defining component of any manufacturing and industry trade convention, allowing buyers to connect with sellers (and, personally, journalists to meet interview subjects!) and vice versa, and Promat and Automate are no different.
