Sandvik Coromant has released a new milling cutter for high feed rate roughing and semi-finishing operations.
The CoroMill 419 is designed for high feed face and profile milling on a wide variety of materials. The CoroMill 419 features five cutting edges with coolant options on each for wet cutting. The cutting edges provide enhanced tool life and are optimized for cutting stainless steel, hardened steel and titanium.
Sandvik Coromant also offers optional compressed air cooling for enhanced swarf removal, such as during deep-cavity milling and helical interpolation operations. The high-feed milling options and enhanced cutting features enable the CoroMill 419 to perform well in most milling operations, though the supplier highlights that the cutter is optimal for applications requiring “light cutting action.”
As of March this year, Sandvik Coromant will offer the tool in a diameter range of 1.25 to 4 in.
