Seco Tools has unveiled a website designed to help clients select proper inserts for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron turning operations.

Located at http://duratomic.secotools.com, the website allows users to input variables in their turning application to help select the correct Duratomic-brand insert. With information about workpiece material, application type, and desired shape and grade, the website produces results for the accurate Duratomic insert. After submitting the relevant information, the user is prompted to provide a mailing address, to which Seco sends an insert sample for testing purposes.

“We featured an initial version of the Duratomic insert selection tool in our booth at IMTS 2012 and the response from visitors was very enthusiastic,” said Tim Aydt, Seco ISO turning product manager, in a statement. “This new mobile site takes things a step further, making it extremely easy for manufacturers to select an insert, and then request a free sample that will let them see how it performs in their actual application.”
