Walter has introduced a new counterboring insert geometry to heighten precision and process reliability.
The E47 counterboring insert geometry is designed for use with the Walter Boring and its tooling systems. It is engineered to provide precision chip removal. Like other machining processes, counterboring can generate chips and suffer from their imprecise removal with standard, indexable inserts. The E47 is intended specifically for counterboring operations, and can remove chips to maintain precise cylindrical forming without shape deformation. This functionality is due to the straight cutting edge.
The inserts can be used with material groups ISO P, M, S with the WSM20 or WSM30 shape varieties and WPP20 for P and K applications. The inserts can be used with the Walter BoringMEDIUM system for drilled holes 20 to 153 mm or for turning operations with the BoringMAXI tooling system at 150 to 640 mm.
