Waterjet tool manufacturer WARDJet has introduced a new series of low-cost, high-speed systems that use pure water for cutting.
The J-Series of waterjet cutting systems are designed for high-volume applications at lower cost by reducing tooling and parts and using pure water for cutting. The J-Series, which cuts at speeds up to 3,000 inches-per-minute (ipm) or 50 inches-per-second (ips) can accelerate or decelerate at a rate of 0.6 m per second squared, can be loaded from all four sides, and features a system of embedded lasers that allow for automatic workpiece loading and unloading. The system can handle single workpieces as well as rolls or sheets of material.
The J-Series includes the J-86, J-138, and J-108 for variable size requirements. Each machine uses water for cutting. WARDJet recommends pure water cutting for high-quantity runs of light material in awkward geometries. Additionally, the pure water cutting system is ideal for materials that need to be cut quickly without getting wet.
