Type II coatings are based on cellulose acetate butyrate & have many applications, such as tool coatings, masking for electroplating & sealing the ends of electric cables. Type II coatings have more odor, the fastest setup time, & are more durable than other types. Type III coatings are based on cellulose acetate propionate & have similar properties to type II coatings. They have very little odor, but less pot life & are primarily used in mold making applications. Type IV coatings are based on thermo-plastic rubber & have a low operating temperature, no odor, & no oil residue.
