Vacuum testing is done by connecting the test object to the leak detectors, object then sprayed with helium around the object. If a leak is present helium will enter the leak as an indication on the leak detector. Pressure testing is done by pressurizing the internal volume of the object to be test. If leak is present will enter the sniffer probe & show as an indication on the leak detector. Combination pressure>vacuum testing in this test method, the test object is pressurized or " backfilled" with helium & placed inside a chamber which is connected to the leak detector. If leak is present helium will flow out of the object into the chamber & show as an indication on the leak detector.
