LessCompany InformationAbout Ultra-Met From http://www.ultra-met.comIn 1965, a group of individuals combined their expertise in the technologies relating to cemented tungsten carbide and the metalworking industry to form The Ultra-met Company in Urbana, Ohio. More... Today the Ultra-met Company is recognized for quality and consistency of its grades and the responsiveness and delivery that an inventory of well maintained tooling allows. When the Krupp-Widia Corporation of West Germany purchased the prospering company from its founders in 1986, the company had diversified into wear parts and products for the mining and construction industries. Although the primary focus of the Krupp-Widia subsidiary was on the metalworking industry, all of Ultra-met's product areas benefited from the infusion of technology and from the emphasis on procedures and trace ability As the European economy began to falter in the early 1990, Krupp-Widia decided to consolidate its resources and concentrate on serving only select applications outside of their home market. The Ultra-Met Company was sold in May of 1993. The new ownership has incorporated as The Ultra-met Company in Ohio. They are local, involved, and dedicated to growing the business in all of its traditional markets, through investment in modern technologies, and just plain "hard work". Less |
