London Lee Tunnel The four-mile Lee Tunnel- London's deepest tunnel ever, will prevent 16 million tons of sewage entering the River each year. At the end of the tunnel is the Beckton Pumping Station, which is part of Britain's largest waste water and sewage treatment plant. A total of 6 KSB pump sets will be installed in a shaft structure 85 meters below the Beckton pumping station and will be used to transport combined stormwater and sewage.
