The Engineered Packaging division provides a wide array of protective packaging products, ranging from automotive material handling components to thermoformed medical packaging to complex cases and inserts. The ability to serve a wide spectrum of packaging needs, including both foams and rigid plastics, is one of UFP's unique attributes. Customers include Hewlett-Packard, DePuy, and IBM. Within our Engineered Packaging division, Molded Fiber is a market and technology leader in custom, 100% recycled paper packaging for computers, peripherals, light electronics and consumer goods. Its products provide a cost-effective, environmentally preferable alternative for a wide range of interior packaging applications. Customers include Lexmark, Canon, Siemens and Yankee Candle. The Component Products division provides high performance foam, fabric, and plastic composites to the medical, sports and leisure, beauty, industrial, and automotive interior markets. Using a range of laminating and molding technologies, the division supplies unique product components, including backpack harness systems, medical braces, precision industrial gaskets, and a broad range of automotive interior trim components. Customers include Johnson Controls, Bard, L.L. Bean, Gillette, and Woodbridge. UFP Technologies was originally founded in 1963 and its initial public offering of shares took place in 1993.

UFP Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: UFPT) was awarded ISO 13485:2003 certification for its Georgetown, Massachusetts, manufacturing facility. Along with the Company's location in Rancho Dominguez, California, UFP Technologies now has two facilities that are ISO 13485:2003 certified. October 15, 2009 — UFP Technologies Acquires E.N. Murray Co.
Georgetown, Mass. (July 8, 2009). UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT), a manufacturer of packaging and specialty component products, today announced the acquisition of E.N. Murray Co. ("ENM"). Founded in 1959 and located in Denver, Colorado, ENM is a full service designer, converter, and distributor of foam plastic products, specializing in technical polyurethane foams. 2008 sales were approximately $13 million.
October 15, 2009 — UFP Technologies Acquires Selected Assets of Advanced Materials Group
Georgetown, Mass., September 3, 2009. UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT), a manufacturer of packaging and component products, today announced that it has purchased certain assets of Advanced Materials Group ("AMI") in Rancho Dominguez, California. AMI, a foam fabricator serving the medical market, filed for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code on July 2, 2009. UFP's purchase of selected assets of AMI was approved by the Bankruptcy Court on September 2, 2009.
