Dapra specializes in high-performance indexable carbide milling tools and inserts for a wide variety of operations, including contouring, facing, slotting and ramping. We are a leading manufacturer of cutting tools for the automotive, die and mold, machining, medical and aerospace industries. Tools include Ball Nose and Back Draft finishers, Square Shoulder mills, High Feed, Toroid More... cutters and SSPM Series production milling tools.

Dapra’s latest generation of cutting tools includes RHINO-FEED, our high-feed line that features ultra-aggressive geometry. RHINO-FEED tools take advantage of chip thinning to allow feed rates up to five times faster than normal. These high-feed cutter bodies are fabricated from through-hardened, extra-tough tools steel for optimum strength, while the inserts offer a positive clearance that provides excellent ramping and helixing capabilities.

Our Square Shoulder milling tools cut to a true 90º, generating smoother finishes. Positive axial and radial insert geometry provides maximum metal removal capabilities with minimum horsepower consumption. These tools are used with our APKT-style inserts, which are offered in pressed, lapped and molded versions for the ideal combination of economy and performance.

Dapra’s Ball Nose and Back Draft finishing mills are designed for excellent tool life, reducing or eliminating costly bench work. Several cutter body types are available, all built to ensure close-tolerance finishing. Our selection of Ball Nose inserts includes new PCD-tipped inserts that are ideal for the milling of soft, non-ferrous materials such as graphite and aluminum.

We offer 3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8” and 3/4” IC Toroid cutting tools. The Toroid line includes three high-performance inserts, including RINO-CARB, to maximize the versatility of our Toroid tools. Our round button inserts have a strong cutting edge, making them an excellent choice for applications ranging from mold cavity and core roughing to helical interpolation to roughing of complex part contours. Square inserts enable Toroid cutters to be used for the most common applications involving 90 º milling. Octagonal (eight-sided) inserts have a 45 º lead angle that is excellent for general face milling, as well as profiling, helical interpolation and chamfering.

The SSPM Series of production milling tools, available in 2” through 6” diameters, provide outstanding 90 º performance for a full range of production milling applications. Three carbide substrates (toughest, medium and hardest) ensure easy insert grade selection.
