Airgas Supports Operation Homefront On June 11, 2008 – Airgas, Inc. announced its pledge of $300,000 to Operation Homefront. The charity supports America’s soldiers by providing emergency assistance and moral support to the families left behind when troops are deployed and to wounded service members when they return home. Airgas has also set a goal to hire 100 veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, we offer our “Welding 101” course to any veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan service who is interested in a career in welding. Airgas associates nationwide have become involved in local activities and fundraisers to support Operation Homefront.

Recognition for Excellence The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) selected Airgas National Welders as their Large Business Innovative Performance of the Year for 2008. Airgas National Welders was awarded this distinction for its innovation in developing design solutions for safe, high-capacity, and high-flow cylinder pallet delivery systems. To DLA's customers, these pallet delivery systems are known as High Pressure Cylinder Assemblies (HPCAs). The customized cylinder pallets are capable of transport in a variety of modes, such as aboard aircraft, suspended underneath aircraft, or on trucks. The Company built, filled, and delivered the pallets for DLA Energy Support Center’s use in overseas deployments, and was selected as a recipient of the performance award from a pool of thousands of suppliers.
