About Cornell

Cornell Iron Works has been owned and managed by the Cornell family since 1828. In the 19th century, we were a manufacturer of specialty ironwork, grates, railings, stairs, vaults and structural and ornamental ironwork. The company originated in New York City serving a regional market then later New England and the middle Atlantic states.

Today, with manufacturing and corporate offices located in Mountaintop, Pennsylvania, we are a leading resource for rolling steel doors and grilles. Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Cornell employs over 200 associates in over 185,000 square feet of facility space. All production units are designed and manufactured per order. All Cornell associates assertively serve our customers.

Thermiser® Insulated Doors (Model ESD20)
Thermiser® Insulated Rolling Steel Doors are recommended for exterior openings where maintaining different temperatures on each side of the door is desirable. The door keeps buildings warm in winter and cool in summer. Closed cell urethane foam insulation provides the lowest thermal conductivity of any material commercially available. The slat has an R-value of 8.0 (U-factor of 0.125) as calculated using the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals.
Extreme Performance 524 Doors
Cornell’s Extreme Performance 524 Doors offer the superior security of overhead coiling steel doors, with the additional benefits of rapid opening speeds and increased cycle life. 524 Doors are tested to perform for over a half million cycles at an opening speed of 24 inches per second. In addition to their single slat curtain design, 524 Doors are also available in an insulated curtain configuration to further reduce thermal transfer and generate increased energy savings.
