Vehicular gate operator products provide convenience and security. However, gate operators must use high levels of force to move gates. In March of 2000, important industry safety standards came into effect to help insure that gate operators are designed, manufactured and installed in a safe manner.
In addition to the safety standard for gate operators, ASTM F2200-02, Standard Specification for Automated Vehicular Gate Construction, was published in September 2002. This safety standard provides design specifications to insure that the gate itself meets certain safety criteria. Because automated vehicular gate systems must be installed in accordance with these safety standards, and to maintain the highest level of consumer safety and customer support, DKS has chosen to market its products only to professional companies who are licensed to sell, install and service vehicular gate operating systems and access control equipment.
