   Mount Prospect, IL - (April 27, 2009) Engineers from Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. have developed an advanced Diamond-Like Carbon Coating (DLC) for the dry machining of aluminum alloys and non-ferrous applications.
2. March 16, 2009 — Sumitomo Introduces WDX Indexable Carbide Insert Drill

The WDX not only accurately drills holes, but can also perform operations such as turning and boring. 4. February 10, 2009 — Sumitomo Expands SMD Replaceable Drill Line to Include 8XD Drills
   Mount Prospect, IL - (February 3, 2009) Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. recently expanded the SMD replaceable carbide tip product line by adding an 8XD drill to their 3XD and 5XD lineup. The SMD nickel-plated body provides longer tool life than conventional replaceable tip drill bodies. A rigid serration coupling system affixes the replaceable carbide tips to the drill face, improving drill accuracy and repeatability.
5. August 8, 2008 — Sumitomo's New AC830P Achieves Interrupted Steel Turning
   Mount Prospect, IL - (August 7, 2008) Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. introduces the all-new AC830P for interrupted steel turning. The AC830P combines a tough substrate with a newly designed Super FF coating structure to substantially increase the wear resistance over conventional P30 material grades. The AC830P's wear resistance not only exceeds conventional P30 coated carbide grades, its toughness greatly outperforms conventional P20 grades.

8. March 21, 2008 — Sumitomo's New AC510U & AC520U Grades Now Available For Turning of Exotic Materials
   Mount Prospect, IL -(March 21, 2008) Featuring a Super ZX multi-layered coating, the new grades AC510U and AC520U are perfect for roughing, finishing, and medium cut machining of super alloy materials. The Super ZX Coating consists of ultra-thin layers of TiAlN and AlCrN, alternately stacked up to 1,000 layers. As a result, higher speed capabilities and greater wear resistance are achieved.
