Kingsbury, Inc. Receives Order for DDG-1000 Main Propulsion Bearings
PHILADELPHIA, PA, August 31, 2006 - Kingsbury, Inc. is proud to report that the company has received an order to design and manufacture the main propulsion bearings for the first DDG-1000 ships. The order includes an option for five additional ship sets. The assemblies will be provided to the two main contractors on the project, Bath Iron Works (BIW) and Ingalls Shipyard (Northrup Grumman).

HATBORO, PA - In response to customer demands for shorter lead times, particularly on large bearings and components, the Repair & Service (R&S) Division of Kingsbury, Inc. will break ground in February 2006 to add 12,000 square feet of production space. The addition will include a new 120" horizontal boring mill and 130" vertical boring mill, as well as a 30-ton overhead crane. May 6, 2004 — Kingsbury Introduces High Performance Bearing Material PHILADELPHIA (April 29, 2004) – Kingsbury, Inc. announces the availability of fluid-film thrust and journal bearings incorporating an engineered plastic bearing surface for use in process lubricated applications. Bearings made with this extremely tough, yet dimensionally stable material were specifically designed to replace the now obsolete asbestos-based bearings found in boiler re-circulation and submersible pumps.
