RIEGL VZ-1000 in Hawaii/ VZ-6000 in Greenland RIEGL VZ-1000 in Hawaii/ VZ-6000 in Greenland
This video displays two remote sensing applications with a RIEGL Laser Scanner: one of the hottest and one of the coldest places on earth: Hawaiian Volcanic Caldera, Halema'uma'u and Helheim Glacier in Greenland. The RIEGL 3D laser scanner demonstrates how modern technology enables remote sensing of molten rock surfaces through volcanic plumes. In extreme cases such as Greenland, waveform technology and more powerful lasers make it possible to measure snow and ice across wide expanses.

This 3D VZ-Line Laser Scanner offers superior and unrivalled long range measurement performance of up to 4000 m reflectorlessly while still maintaining completely eye safe operation (Laser Class 1). RIEGL's unique V-Line technology is the key to enabling such extreme long range measurements. The VZ-4000 operates even in poor visibility and demanding multi target situations caused by dust, haze, rain, snow, etc. which are frequently found in difficult environments such as mine sites.
