Direct Color Systems® (DCS) is a leading manufacturer of direct-to-substrate, small-format inkjet printers for industrial and other uses. DCS was founded in 1995 and is staffed by experts in each of the four crucial development areas for inkjet printer engineering: mechanical, electrical, product design and ink solutions. While the cost and equipment size of UV printing has up until now been prohibitive, DCS has made a breakthrough to bring this technology to a line of economical small-format printers. These printers are designed for permanent, durable industrial part marking. They deliver sharp text and detailed logos and images in bright white, black and vibrant colors on metals, plastics, ceramics and a wide variety of other materials. DCS’s UV LED printers offer many advantages over traditional marking methods such as electrochemical, laser and dot peen. They are quick and easy to set up and operate, and they offer increased flexibility and customization options. They can create crisp, long-lasting marks, including super-fine text and various standard codes on even the most delicate parts.

UV inkjet printing provides ultra-quick ink curing time, allowing for precise opaque white marking on black and other dark-colored surfaces. DCS’s highly durable Multisolve™ UV LED inks resist abrasion and solvents, even in the harshest industrial environments. Our UV inks also retain some flexibility after curing, making them less susceptible to cracking.

Direct Color Systems’ Direct Jet UV printer line can accommodate parts up to 13” x 24” and 6” thick. Ideal applications include barcode marking; marking for part identification and traceability; unique identification (UID) marking; dial faces, equipment face plates and serial plates; and microchips and other electronic components.

Industrial label printers are also available from DCS. Our small-format Direct Jet inkject printers are the perfect solution for printing industrial labeling and signage. Our labeling systems allow printing of full-color, photo-quality images, logos and text directly onto rigid substrates such as PVC, acrylics, metals, anodized aluminum and wood. We off a proprietary line of InkMark™ coated substrates, which are optimized to simultaneously accept our Multisolve™ dye and clear inks in a single pass.
