Duracote Corporation was founded in 1947 on the premise of developing and utilizing the new and emerging polymer technology, which was just starting to be commercialized after WWII. Supplying new types of impregnated fabrics from its plant in Ravenna, Ohio, the company's initial products included coated fabrics which were used to form ventilation ducts in mines. Later, the line expanded into PVC laminated and coated cloth, which is still to this day used as aircraft utility floor coverings and military aircraft headliners.
