Vaisala's Measurements for Marine Applications Approved by Det Norske Veritas
(Helsinki, Finland) Vaisala has received a formal type approval certificate from the classification society Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The DNV approval is an official guarantee that Vaisala measurement instruments can withstand the extremely harsh marine conditions. Vaisala to Supply Next Generation Dropsondes for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in USA
Vaisala and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have signed a 5 year supply contract for the delivery of next generation GPS dropsondes used for hurricane reconnaissance, hurricane research and storm track forecasting by the US National Hurricane Center. The estimated value of the deal is USD 9.2 million.
