The Chas. E. Phipps Company distributes concrete repair materials, sealants, coatings and various building specialties to contractors across Ohio. Phipps traces its history to about 1913 when Charles E. Phipps began selling train car loads of aggregates for construction use and to Cleveland’s foundries. From the 1930’s to 1984 Melbourne W. Phipps diversified the products Phipps sold, but the company remained focused on providing “Quality Products, Technical Expertise and Trusted Service” to industrial and commercial contractors across northern Ohio. Over the last 20 years Phipps has achieved the distinction of being one of the largest U.S. distributors for Degussa, Sika, Tremco, Ardex, Solomon Grind and other fine manufacturers of concrete accessories and sealants.

Phipps is proud of our employees who are making Phipps the distributor of first choice for our customers and vendors. The median tenure of our staff is over 10 years, and we are proud to contribute time and energy to numerous professional organizations such as: The American Concrete Institute, The National Association of Women in Construction, The Construction Specification Institute, the International Concrete Repair Institute, the American Concrete Institute, the Cleveland Engineering Society and several others. Phipps also is a proud member of the North American cooperative, the Associated Construction Distributors International (ACDI). This group of companies has branches in over 174 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico which allows Phipps and its fellow members to service contractors almost wherever they are working.
